Transport sector
Development of transport sector is also in the focus of attention of the state. Transport infra-structure is developing rapidly within the country. Common length of automobile roads makes 25 000 kilometers. In 2009 the volume of units shipped increased 2,4 times, services to passengers – 1,5 times in compare with the year 2000. The biggest in the region – International Coach Station Complex in Baku offers services to 18-20 000 clients and provides transportation both within the country and abroad as well. One of the projects aimed to intensify international trucking – the con-struction of railway Baku-Tbilisi-Kars which connect the railways of Azerbaijan and Turkey. Azer-baijan allocated 200 million USD credit, termed 25 years for Georgia to complete the part of work (general budget of the Project is 600 million USD).
